OUR HISTORY:
In 2003, the Board members of Parents Anonymous instituted an annual event, a Wine Lecture and Tasting, chaired by long-time Board member and Smith County Medical Society Alliance member, Glenda Heaton. Glenda poured her heart into this event despite the personal battle she was fighting with cancer.

At the end of that evening in November, a record amount of money had been raised for this small agency that fights daily to end the tragedy of child abuse. With pride in a job well done and knowing that her efforts and dedication had truly impacted the lives of the thousands of people touched by the services of Parents Anonymous, Glenda began an event that has grown in attendance and reputation.

In 2007, changes in the event made it even more fun, relaxed and memorable. Renamed The Wine Festival, the event featured wineries and distributors who shared their wines with guests, a band for those who wanted to dance or just enjoy the music, and of course, a Live and Silent Auction.

We are very excited about this year's event which will be held Thursday, November 19, at The Rose Garden Center.

OUR HONOREES:
This year, the Board of Directors of Parents Anonymous and the Wine Festival Committee are proud to announce our honorees: Debbie and Paul Pitts. Dedicated supporters of Parents Anonymous for many years, Debbie and Paul are also dedicated to the well-being of families in our community. Paul, a local pediatrician, is an advocate for children and their right to proper treatment and happy lives. Paul served as president of Parents Anonymous several years ago and has remained a faithful friend to the agency. Debbie, through her work in the community and in her church, has also demonstrated a love of children and families. Serving as president of the Smith County Medical Society Alliance and as a tireless volunteer in that and other areas has allowed her to share this love and dedication. She has been a staunch and tireless supporter of PA, including one year asking for her birthday gifts to be donations to the agency.

Debbie and Paul have been loyal to the Wine Festival and honor us each year with their presence and support. It is our honor this year to dedicate this event to them, to their sons, Jack and Ben, and to their love of families and children.
